Show HN: State of the Art of Coding Models, According to Hacker News Commenters

Hacker News commenters reveal the current state of coding models, with a snapshot of popular tools and trends emerging from a two-week data scrape, highlighting the dominance of large language models and the growing interest in self-hosting and hardware setups for AI-powered coding assistants. The analysis, which leverages a custom pipeline and Google Sheet, provides a unique window into the evolving landscape of coding tools and techniques. AI-assisted, human-reviewed.

Hello HN, I was away from my computer for two weeks, and after coming back and reading the latest discussions on HN about coding assistants (models, harnesses), I felt very out of the loop. My normal process would have been to keep reading and figure out the latest and greatest from people's comments, but I wanted to try and automate this process. Basically the goal is to get a quick overview over which coding models are popular on HN. A next iteration could also scan for harnesses that people use, or info on self-hosting or hardware setups. I wrote a short intro on the page about the pipeline that collects and analyzes the data, but feel free to ask for more details or check the Google Sheet for more info. https://hnup.date/hn-sota Comments URL: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=47990708 Points: 5 # Comments: 3

ASML's Best Selling Product Isn't What You Think It Is

ASML's dominance in the semiconductor industry is driven by a product that has little to do with its high-end lithography machines: the company's entry-level NXE:3400B scanner, which has become the industry's de facto standard for 248nm immersion lithography, outpacing its more advanced counterparts in adoption and market share. This unexpected success stems from its cost-effective design and seamless integration with existing manufacturing workflows. The NXE:3400B's widespread adoption has cemented ASML's position as a leader in the sector. AI-assisted, human-reviewed.
